Mosaic Tile House
I've have lived in Los Angeles for 5 years. 5 years, 3 month, and 25 days to be exact. And still, there are parts of this town I have not seen, gems I have yet to discover. I came across the Mosaic Tile House on Instagram a couple of months ago, I think it came up on my explore page, and I immediately saved the post to make sure I didn't forget it's existence. The Mosaic Tile House is only open on Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm on Saturdays, admission fee is $15 for adult, $10 for kids.
This house belongs to a cute couple, she makes the tiles, he places them all over their property. This endevour started in the bathroom, he found the process to be therapeutic so he moved to other parts of the house, and eventually wound up outside. They are true masters to the craft, from the creation of the tiles, the placement, the themes of different areas...you could spend hours staring at every inch of this house.
This originally wasn’t going to be a blog post, I just wanted to see what the house was about and take some photos for the ‘gram, but after taking fifty photos in thirty minutes...where else am I going to put these photos? I almost walked away when I saw the $15 admission fee, but once you realize that your helping this couple live doing what they love...it felt like the best $15 I've spent in a long time.
If you want to make sure you're up to date on their most current hours of operation, make sure to visit their page here. If you happen to be in Venice on a Saturday, you have to check this place out, if what I've written hasn't convinced you, then I'll let the photos do the rest. You won't regret it.
